  • PublishedDecember 13, 2021

What is myUSAO?

The myUSAO login portal is a valuable resource for students and provides easy access to critical information such as course schedules, grades, and financial aid. The website will be updated periodically with new information, so students must check it frequently.

Students need to keep their username and password information confidential. If they happen to forget their login credentials, they can follow the instructions on the myUSAO website to reset their username or password.

Students are encouraged to visit the myUSAO website frequently to update upcoming events and deadlines. The website also includes helpful tutorials on how to use different features of the portal.

Follow these steps to log into myUSAO portal

To access your myUSAO login portal,

  1. Navigate to my.usao.edu on your web browser.
  2. On the top corner, enter your username and click Continue.
  3. Next, enter your Password.
  4. Click login to access your myUSAO login dashboard.

After entering the correct login details, a welcome page will appear asking you to fill out your myUSAO profile to utilize all features and benefits that come with it entirely. Here is a quick guide on how to complete the process. After filling in all required fields, click the “complete account” button at the bottom of the page. You can now access the USAGov portal such as My Alabama Taxes (MAT), U.S Department of Labor, etc., which you otherwise could not without logging into the myUSAO portal first.

How to set up your email account

Using a USAO email address will receive an assigned local email account. However, this requires that the user access a computer and online network to set up their email. If these resources are not accessible, then a phone-based process is available.

  1. To set up your new USAO email on a computer:
  2. 1) Open your favourite web browser from any device (desktop/laptop/mobile).
  3. 2) In the top right corner of your screen, type “myUSAO.usao.Alaska” or click on this link.
  4. 3) Click the blue Sign-Up button in the middle of the page.
  5. 4) Enter your myUSAO Username
  6. 5) Enter your myUSAO Password.
  7. 6) Click the blue Sign up button. Your account has been successfully created.

What’s your username and Password?

If you’re like most people, you probably have no idea. And if you don’t know your login credentials, you can’t access your account to file a claim or request information.

myUSAO is the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO) secure login portal. It provides online tools and resources for crime victims, witnesses, and others with business before the USAO. The myUSAO login portal is also where you can find contact information for your local USAO office.

The myUSAO login portal is available to anyone with an internet connection. You can use it to:

  • – File a claim or request information
  • – Access and complete your Victim Assistance Workshop
  • – Find out about upcoming events and training opportunities for victims and witnesses.
  • – Read the latest news from the USAO

Password must:

  •  Be at least eight characters long.
  • Contain at least one lower case character (a-z).
  • Contain at least one upper case character (A-Z).
  • Contain at least one number (0-9) or special character ($, #, !).
  • Not be the same as your account name or some commonly used word. Do not use any part of your personal name.

How to access myUSAO Canvas

This guide is helpful for students in USAO

  • STEP 1. Go to http://myusao.usao.edu/portal/
  • STEP 2. On the upper right-hand corner of your screen, select the “Login” button under Current Students or Faculty & Staff. If you are neither, then click Alumni and Guest Login button on the left side menu bar. This will take you to the login page for guest access, where you can create a new account by selecting New User Registration. If students already have an active USAO email account, they may not register as guest users since their information is already on the login portal.
  • STEP 3. Once you have successfully logged in, click on the Canvas link on the right side menu bar. This will lead you to USAO’s learning management system, where instructors can post announcements and course materials, as well as students, access discussion boards, grades, etc… Please check with your instructor if you are unsure how to access their respective courses.
  • STEP 4. To log out, select “Logout” under the Current Students or Faculty & Staff drop-down menu in the upper right-hand corner of your screen or click here. You may also want to click “Clear Browser Cookies” after you are done using Canvas if you are experiencing any login problems.

Enrollment instructions for student

  • Step 1. Go to myUSAO https://myusaoinstruction.com/
  • Step 2. Look for the Welcome box and click on Enroll Now button under the Student tab.
  • Step 3 . Fill out all the required information, then press Continue at the bottom of the page.
  • Step 4 . You will receive an email from USAO with a verification code that you have to enter to complete your Sign up process. If this doesn’t happen immediately, don’t worry. It can take up to three hours for them to send you the code via email. Once you get the code, make sure you copy it down somewhere before clicking on “Submit.”
  • Step 5. After you enter the verification code, you will create your Password and finish enrolling in the system.

Once you have completed the enrollment process, you will be able to access myUSAO Student Portal by clicking on the login link and entering your username (the email address you used to enroll) and Password. The portal provides students with a variety of resources, such as information on how to register for classes, view grades and transcripts, and more.
